Little Bay Project Receives Environmental Business Council (EBC) Award

News

To help ensure that the New Hampshire Seacoast Region can continue to grow and thrive, Eversource has completed construction of the Seacoast Reliability Project (SRP), a new transmission line connecting two existing substations in Madbury and Portsmouth, NH. Normandeau has contributed to this project by conducting environmental permitting, providing continued construction monitoring, and more. One significant portion of the SRP included laying cable along the bottom of Little Bay. This effort required coordination of several organizations and industry leaders to complete the project and ensure that the impact to the environment was minimal. Normandeau conducted water quality monitoring and sampling throughout this entire stage of the project.

In the spirit of cooperation and success, we are happy to announce that the Little Bay Submarine Cable Crossing project is this year’s recipient of the Environmental Business Council (EBC) of New England’s Nicholas Humber Award for Outstanding Collaboration! Each year, the EBC recognizes companies, organizations, and individuals for outstanding accomplishment in environmental management, energy resources and management, and climate change through the EBEE Awards. Normandeau’s Senior Principal Wetland Scientist and SRP Project Manager Sarah Allen will be accepting the award at the EBC’s Virtual EBEE Awards ceremony Thursday, September 17th. We look forward to celebrating this tremendous achievement with our partners and colleagues that evening. This was an amazing collaboration and we are proud to have been a part of it. Congratulations to all!
