We also own and maintain an extensive fleet of vessels, vehicles and other equipment necessary for the successful implementation of environmental monitoring and sampling programs. We are well-known for our ability to undertake complex field programs with the ability to quickly mobilize personnel and equipment. Several of our senior field personnel are U.S. Coast Guard licensed boat captains and have Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®) security clearance.

Impingement and Entrainment Studies
  • Impingement and entrainment studies to evaluate the losses of ichthyoplankton and adult fish due to cooling water withdrawal.
Mercury Study
  • Comprehensive court-ordered mercury study including synoptic collection of water, sediment, fisheries, shellfish and invertebrates.
  • Sampling events using "clean hands" sampling protocol due to extremely low concentrations of mercury in water.
  • Study of mercury levels of mammals, songbirds, and sea ducks in the project area.
Long-term Environmental Studies for a Nuclear Power Generating Station
  • Extensive field and lab studies to support evaluation of effects of once-through cooling on soft-shell clam, finfish, plankton, benthos and lobster populations, as well as water quality, and hydrographic monitoring.
  • Field experimental design developed to allow impact assessment using the BAC1 (before-after-control-impact) Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) Model.
Essential Fish Habitat Biological Study
  • Survey of marine resources including shellfish, macrobenthos, eelgrass, ichthyoplankton and macrozooplankton.
  • Summary reports to support FERC license process including Essential Fish Habitat (EFH).
River Restoration Mussel Survey
  • Diver survey identifying and enumerating freshwater mussels.
  • Preparation of geo-referenced maps to show sediment type, and specific mussel locations, to help the client minimize impacts to rare, threatened and endangered species and to develop appropriate mitigation measures.
Decommissioning Radionuclide Sampling
  • Extensive field program to collect sediment and biota around a nuclear generating station to include scientific diving services.
  • Over 600 sediment samples and marine biota including lobster, clams, rockweed and fish collected for input into hydrological modeling.
  • Results used to determine fate and transport of licensed radionuclide discharges.
Port Construction and Modernization Project
  • Design and implementation of water quality, eel grass, wetland and benthic studies and year-long fisheries studies.
  • Informal Section 7 consultation for shortnose sturgeon, including a tagging studies to monitor movements before and during construction activities.
LNG Terminal Expansion
  • Extensive investigations of ichthyoplankton, zooplankton, and lobster larvae resources associated with the development of an LNG terminal.
