Normandeau Completes Eel Passage & Survival Study in France | Bedford, NH — Tuesday, March 23, 2010 — Normandeau Associates recently completed a successful adult European eel (Anguilla anguilla) turbine passage and survival study for Electricit de France (EDF). The study was conducted using Normandeau's patent tagging technology the HI-Z Turb'N Tag®. Conducted at the Fessenheim Station on the Rhine River near Mulhouse in Northeast France, over 300 eels were tagged and released at three different locations within the turbine environment. With a high recapture and survival rate, EDF was pleased at the success of the turbine passage results. The studies drew visitors and observers from various French agencies and locals.
