Bob Varney Delivers Opening Remarks at Maine Beaches Conference | | Bedford, NH — Friday, July 10, 2009 — On July 10, 2009 Bob Varney, Senior Vice President of Normandeau Associates delivered the opening remarks at the annual Maine Beaches Conference at Southern Maine Community College in South Portland, Maine. The conference theme was "Valuing Maine's Beaches: Assets, Challenges and Actions for Today and Tomorrow." In his remarks at the well-attended conference, Varney covered topics such as beach monitoring funding, establishment of No Discharge Area designations for coastal areas, the importance of clean marinas programs, funding for wastewater treatment and the state's SRF priority ranking system and challenges associated with reducing stormwater pollution from new and existing development. |
