Normandeau Presents TIMR and Wind Site Assessment at AWEA Offshore Windpower Conference
|Gainesville, FL — Normandeau's Christine Sutter, Vice President and Bat Team Lead, and Julia Robinson Willmott, Senior Scientist, presented their most recent research at the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) Offshore Windpower Conference held in Warwick, Rhode Island.
Sutter presented a poster titled "Turbine Integrated Mortality Reduction of Bat Fatalities," featuring Normandeau's new technology, TIMRSM, which is designed to reduce bat mortality at wind energy facilities. Willmott presented a poster titled "New York Wind Energy Area: Watch this Space," which focuses on the offshore siting of wind facilities.
Christine (Crissy) Sutter has over 20 years of experience with federal regulatory and compliance issues associated with the siting of energy projects. Ms. Sutter is the co-inventor of the ReBAT bat acoustic monitoring system. Julia Willmott is a respected ornithologist with over 20 years of experience in 23 different countries assessing both offshore and onshore ecological impacts of anthropogenic and natural stressors on birds and other taxa.
