Nashua Regional Planning Commission Receives Award

Bedford, NH — The NH Planners Association (NHPA) presented the 2015 "Plan of the Year" award to the Nashua Regional Planning Commission for its regional plan called "The Nashua Region: A Story Worth Telling." The plan was prepared under the direction of Kerrie Diers, Normandeau''s Director of Planning and Communications, who served as NRPC''s Executive Director. The plan focuses on interviews and stories of residents from the Nashua region, connecting them with demographics and other data in an innovative, engaging format. The NHPA "Plan of the Year" recognizes plans that are considered a significant advancement to the science and art of planning and take an innovative approach, expanding the envelope of accepted planning principles.

Other 2015 NHPA awards included: Project of the Year - New Hampshire Housing for its Community Planning Grant Program; Professional Planner of the Year - Cliff Sinnott, Executive Director of the Rockingham Planning Commission; NH Citizen Planner of the Year - Neil Faiman, chair of the Wilton Zoning Board; and the Jeffrey H. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award which was awarded posthumously to Jeffery H. Taylor for his career accomplishments and his significance to the practice of planning in New Hampshire.
