Bedford, NH — Tuesday, April 28, 2009 — Normandeau's Gary Alt, Ph.D. and industry recognized expert will be presenting the recently accepted poster presentation at the upcoming AWEA WINDPOWER 2009 Conference in Chicago, Illinois. A poster reception will be held at the confernce on Monday, May 4th from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm (CST).

Gary Alt, will be presenting "Wind Energy Development Patterns and Regulatory Requirements for Wildlife Studies in Thirteen Northeastern States" and will be available for discussion at the Normandeau exhibit booth (# 5767) during exhibit hours. The poster will be on display for the duration of the conference.

The purpose of the poster is to present and compare impact assessment and wildlife study requirements for wind energy development in selected northeastern states. Wind energy plays a rapidly increasing role in America's energy future. Although development has focused on terrestrial projects to date, several states have shown interest in developing offshore wind resources as well. Wind energy development has also spawned an evolving array of ecological impact assessment and wildlife study requirements that often differ significantly from state to state.
