Normandeau Associates Awarded Hydroacoustics Studies by the New York Power Authority (NYPA) | | Bedford, NH — Monday, September 15, 2008 — Normandeau Associates has been awarded a contract by the New York Power Authority (NYPA). Under this contract Normandeau Associates will evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of a high-frequency acoustic barrier for guiding juvenile blueback herring through bypass routes at the Crescent Hydroelectric Project during their migration down the Mohawk River, New York. Normandeau Associates will conduct the hydroacoustic studies of Juvenile Blueback Herring using fixed-location and mobile hydroacoustic surveys, as well as Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) technology. Analysis of the data will assist the NYPA to understand and improve the effectiveness of their fish bypass operations. |
