Normandeau Associates Supports Skills Center

Vancouver, Washington — For the fourth consecutive year, Normandeau Associates is proud to be a sponsor of the Clark County Skill's Center annual fundraising dinner.

The Clark County Skills Center began in 1983 as a cooperative educational venture between eight Southwest Washington school districts. The vision of those districts was to create a school, in partnership with business, "to prepare students for the work force" by offering the opportunity train in technical career areas too expensive for a single district to fund.

In addition to sponsoring the annual dinner, Karen Ciocia, Normandeau's public involvement manager, is a Skills Center Foundation board member and immediate past chair of the board. During the past holiday season, Normandeau also teamed with Clark County's Share House to provide grocery gift cards to benefit the families of 50 Skills Center students. Normandeau also provides in-kind graphic design support for the Skills Center dinner.

"The Skills Center provides educational opportunities to students whose career goals may not necessarily track with a standard high school curriculum," says Ciocia. "When you talk to the students, you see their enthusiasm and understand what an important role the Skills Center has in their lives. It's an honor to be a part of such a program."

Normandeau was initially drawn to support the Skills Center because of its Agriculture Science & Environmental Education program.
