Dena Horton Joins Vancouver, WA Office of Normandeau Associates, Inc.

Vancouver, WA, August 24, 2006 – Dena Horton, former district representative for Congressman Brian Baird and the 2003 General George C. Marshall Public Service Leadership Award recipient, has been hired by Normandeau Associates, Inc. as Public Involvement Project Manager.

“Dena knows the people and issues of southwest Washington and she cares deeply about our local communities. These are precisely the qualities we value, and we’re thrilled to add her to our team,” says Karen Ciocia, Public Involvement Manager. Normandeau Associates, a nationwide firm which opened its Vancouver office last May, provides environmental and public involvement consulting services.

“I'm very excited to join the Normandeau team in Vancouver and look forward to working on projects that enhance our quality of life in this region,”says Horton.

Horton most recently was program manager for the Southwest Washington Agency on Aging. She is a current board member of the Clark County Skills Center Foundation, Evergreen High School Dollars for Scholars, and Gonzaga University Alumni Mentoring Program. She is a volunteer for Celebrate Freedom/Vancouver National Historic Reserve Trust, secretary of the Clark County Democratic Central Committee, and member of the Downtown Vancouver Rotary Club.

A graduate of Gonzaga University, Horton is also a member of the 2003-2004 Leadership Clark County class. She has completed course work towards a Masters in Public Affairs at Washington State University Vancouver. While on Congressman Baird’s staff from 2000-2004, Horton, among other duties, facilitated relations with local, state, and federal officials and local community groups.
