Appalachian Power Company Selects Normandeau for FERC Licensing Studies at the Claytor Lake Project
Bedford, NH. February 15, 2007 – Normandeau Associates has been selected by the Appalachian Power Company (APC) to assist with studies related to its relicensing of the Claytor Project on New River in Pulaski County, Virginia. This 75 mw project creates a 21-mile reservoir with extensive shoreline and recreational and aquatic resources. Normandeau scientists will be conducting investigations in three major areas: Water Quality, Fish Entrainment and Impingement, and Wetlands, Riparian, Vegetation and Bald Eagle Habitat Investigations. These studies will require extensive field investigations and analysis to determine the impacts of various operational alternatives. Options for mitigating potential impacts will also be developed.
