Normandeau Associates, Inc. Expanding Southeastern U.S. Business

Aiken, SC, June 22, 2006 – Normandeau Associates, Inc., is growing, including its Southeastern U.S. operations, from Texas to Virginia to Florida! In conjunction with our expansion plans, Dr. Matthew Chan will manage the company's Southeast Regional Office (Aiken, South Carolina, 803.644.6262).

Dr. Chan obtained his Ph.D. at Virginia Tech and his M.S. at the University of Mississippi. Dr. Chan’s project management and scientific experience included FERC Licensing studies, side scanning sonar studies, instream habitat mapping and modeling (PHABSIM, IFIM, and River2D), fish passage issues, ecological support analysis for 316a/b studies, and habitat assessment of rare, threatened, or endangered aquatic species.

Normandeau has been actively consulting in the Southeast region for nearly 20 years, since it established its Southeast Office in 1988. Dr. Chan will work to expand Southeastern U.S. services to all traditional markets served by Normandeau Associates (Energy, Hydropower, Ports and Waterways, Transportation, Government, Municipal, and Manufacturing). Additionally, Dr. Chan will work with Mr. Rick Simmons, a senior company manager, who has regularly managed large and complex projects in the Southeast.
